Shellie Sowell
Board Chair
Shellie Sowell has been active with The Saint Constantine School of Middle TN since its inception, serving on the Steering Committee. She earned her Bachelor of Science with a double major in Accounting and Finance/Economics. Shellie, her husband Andy, and their four daughters attend St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church, where she serves as church school director and on the parish council. She has homeschooled all four daughters, with her first graduate attending Saint Constantine College. She has worked as a mentor with Theoria Fellowship Tutorial since 2016. She received her certification as a Classical Teacher from the Circe Institute.
W.Z. Baumgartner, Jr.
Board Vice President
William is a retired Professional Civil/Environmental Engineer. He received his Bachelor’s of Engineering in 1966 and his Masters of Science in 1969 from Vanderbilt University. He was a partner in the firm of Alley, Young & Baumgartner, Inc. before launching his own firm, W. Z. Baumgartner & Assoc., Inc. in 1990, retiring in 2013. He was a leader in the formation of Christ Presbyterian Academy before coming home to the Orthodox faith. He has been an active member of St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN, since 1990 where he served as Parish Council President for 13 years. He and his wife, Ann, have 3 adult children, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. His children and grandchildren have all been homeschooled. He has taught Economics, American Government, and Orthodox World Cosmology (using Fr. Seraphim Rose’s Orthodox Survival Course as a base) to numerous homeschool students, taught the 9-12th grade teens at St. Ignatius Church School for many years and presently teaches adult Church School classes. He has a deep commitment to providing young people with a sound technical education built on a solid Orthodox foundation.
Thomas W. Singleton
Board Treasurer
Thomas is a retired Healthcare executive. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1970 from Vanderbilt University and his MBA from University of Chicago in1972. He began his career in hospital management in 1974 as a financial analyst and eventually helped start a hospital management company in 1981 which was sold in 1992. He then started a hospital turnaround company which he sold in 2004. He has been an active member of St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Franklin, Tennessee since 2008. He and his wife Sylvia have 4 adult children and 12 grandchildren.
John W. Gunn, Ed.D.
Board Secretary
A member of St. Ignatius Orthodox Church in Franklin, TN, John is a career educator of 35 years in both Tennessee and Kentucky serving in a variety of roles—special educator, bus driver, high school principal, unit school principal, adjunct professor, GED instructor, grant-writer, and various public school district office roles including Superintendent of Schools. He has B.A. and Ed.D. from Trevecca Nazarene University, a M.Ed. from Tennessee State University, an M.Div. from Nazarene Theological Seminary, and has an additional 30 hours in Administration/Supervision from Tennessee State University/Trevecca. He also has completed all course in the Antiochian House of Studies in Orthodox theology as well as holding certifications in Handle with Care Behavior® Management Trainer, Adverse Childhood Experiences, Building Strong Brains®, International Institute for Restorative Practices® (trainer) in Restorative Practices and Circles, and Youth Mental Health First Aid© (trainer). He has been privileged to serve as a member of the Hopkinsville KY, Murray State University: Regional Campus Advisory Council, the Kentucky Prichard Committee for Academic Excellence Groundswell Initiative, board member of the 23rd Judicial District (TN) Child Advocacy Center, and founding member of the Tennessee Alternative Educators’ Association serving as president from 2003-2006. John was the inaugural principal of New Directions Academy, a K-12 alternative educational program, in which there was a pioneering use of Behavior Management Circles as a way to help students learn to understand, monitor, and change maladaptive behavior to pro-social behaviors. John also has served as an elected Dickson County, TN Commissioner for a four-year term.
Marcus Geromes
Board Member
Marcus earned his Master of Divinity from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology in 2012. He went on to complete a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Lipscomb University. With over a decade of experience in private clinical practice, Marcus has developed extensive expertise in behavioral health and therapeutic leadership. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Therapy Space and is a Managing Partner at Aletheia Behavioral Health, where he focuses on organizational growth, clinical excellence, and expanding access to high-quality mental health services.
Kim Pandorf
Board Member
Kim earned her BA degree in Business Administration from Malone University in Ohio and went on to complete a MA degree in Gerontology from the University of South Florida. While working with older adults in the community mental health field, she married her husband, Bennie. The Lord has blessed them with six children over their 30 years together. After being introduced to classical education when their oldest child was two years old, she knew this was their intended path and spent the bulk of her energy home educating the children, hoping to instill a love for the Good, True and Beautiful, the goal of their education being “to learn to love that which is worth loving.” They are members of St. Elizabeth the New Martyr Orthodox Church in Murfreesboro, TN.
